According to local media, the incident occurred on a highway in North Carolina. Corvette owner Spencer Everett said he wanted to take one last joyride in the powerful Chevrolet and decided to floor it. This decision proved fatal, as after a sharp "takeoff," control of the car was lost.

The car flew off the road, rolled over several times, and came to rest on its right side. Rescuers and ambulance workers who arrived at the scene found the Corvette in the grass about ten meters from the highway. The petrolhead himself survived – he was saved by his seat belts.

According to Everett, he planned to hand over the keys to the new owner the next day. Now he is left with a wrecked car, and Spencer will also have to pay a fine for reckless driving.

The mileage of the Corvette is not reported. The car's year of manufacture is 2020.
