As local media report, the McLaren caught fire while standing at a gas station. Moreover, the fire was so strong that firefighters who arrived at the scene extinguished it only after 2 hours. Unfortunately, only pieces of metal and ash remained from the car.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is assumed that the driver accidentally spilled fuel on the exhaust pipe while refueling, after which he started the car and it caught fire. He could have made such a mistake because he had not yet had time to get used to the supercar, since he purchased it just three days before the fatal incident.

One can only hope that the McLaren 765LT was insured, as the cost of such a car is considerable – 299 thousand dollars. However, besides the cost, this car is also notable for its exclusivity – the British brand produced only 765 units of this model.
By the way, a few words about the characteristics of the McLaren 765LT: the supercar is equipped with a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 producing 765 hp and 800 Nm, as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (compared to the iconic 720S, its engine is more powerful by 45 hp and 22 Nm, and the transmission works 15% faster). The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. Due to the use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials in the construction, the McLaren 765LT is also 80 kg lighter than the 720S.
