As you can see, the owner of this car attached a foam/rubber tube to the door handles of their vehicle. Obviously, in this way they decided to protect their car from passenger cars that might park nearby and damage their "swallow", say, when carelessly opening a door. Presumably, the photo was taken in Croatia.
It is worth noting that minor accidents do often happen in parking lots due to tight contact, and in poorly lit shopping mall parking lots they even occur with enviable regularity. At the same time, there is no one hundred percent way to protect; among the most popular methods are side moldings on doors and parking across two spaces at once (to have more free space around).
