As Detroit Free Press reports, Sergio has long been a staunch advocate of electric cars. First, he bought himself a Tesla Model X, and quite recently - a Ford Mustang Mach-E crossover. And it was the latter car that was "not understood" in the Tesla community, of which Rodriguez himself was a member.

After posting the first photos of the new car on social media, he was immediately attacked with criticism. They say oil traders and the Ford company bribed Sergio, otherwise he would not have praised the electric Mustang. Then it got worse: some Tesla fans wished the Ford owner to die in a fatal accident or to be left without his new Mach-E due to the car spontaneously combusting while driving. Finally, one Tesla fan said he would definitely meet Rodriguez on the road and sort things out with him.

The American noted that he did not expect anything like this and now intends to say goodbye to the Tesla electric vehicle owners community.
The publication that reported this story emphasized that many Tesla fans indeed show intolerance not only towards owners of fuel cars, but also towards electric cars of other brands. The reason seems to be that many of them are fanatically devoted to Tesla and its head Elon Musk - as the only savior of humanity from global warming.
