In 2012, US resident Michael Trenzoni bought bitcoins at a rate of about 10 dollars each, and already in 2013 he spent them on buying a Prius. At that time, the rate of the trendy cryptocurrency was already 22 dollars each, and since the seller valued his car at 22,000 dollars, Trenzoni had to pay 1,000 bitcoins for it.
Unfortunately, whether the car seller kept the bitcoins or invested them in some other business is unknown.
The Prius owner told the American press that he does not regret his purchase. On this occasion, he even bought a special license plate for his car - "BITCOIN". It is possible that with such fame, this car may eventually increase in value, but, of course, not as impressively as the value of bitcoin has grown in recent years.
