High mileage does not always hinder the sale of a used car. Statistics from the domestic market for the summer of 2026 show steady demand for the Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane, and Ford Focus. In July, the average age of resold passenger cars was 15.9 years.
Cars under $10,000 with high demand on the secondary market
The selection includes models that are among the leaders in domestic resales and are realistically available within a budget of up to $10,000. The price benchmark is based on offers from the Ukrainian online market in 2026.
1. Volkswagen Passat 2008-2012 – around $7,500-9,000
In August, the Volkswagen Passat became the most popular model on the Ukrainian secondary market with 2,295 resales. The median price of Passat listings was around $8,900. The market includes examples with mileage over 300,000 km.
2. Skoda Octavia 2008-2012 – around $7,500
The Skoda Octavia took third place with 2,109 resales. The median price of the model was $7,499, and among current listings there are cars with mileage over 250,000 km.
“High mileage does not necessarily make a car illiquid: statistics show that models well known to Ukrainians continue to be actively resold,” notes the author of the material, Oleksii Astapov.
3. Volkswagen Golf 2008-2012 – around $6,500
In August, the Volkswagen Golf changed owners 2,072 times, with the number of transactions increasing by 2.4% over the month. The median price of listings was $6,500.
4. Renault Megane 2010-2014 – around $6,800
The Renault Megane gained 1,112 resales in a month. The median price of the model on AUTO.RIA was around $6,800, and among the listings there are cars with mileage of 250,000-380,000 km.
5. Ford Focus 2011-2014 – around $7,000-8,000
In August, the Ford Focus was resold 1,023 times, which is 4.2% more than in July. The market offers cars from this period with mileage over 200,000-300,000 km and prices within the specified budget.
