Daewoo Lanos, Daewoo Sens, and Chevrolet Lanos are estimated at approximately $2500-4500. The cars have simple engines and suspension design. Spare parts are widely available in Ukrainian auto shops, and the low price of the car itself leaves part of the budget for initial maintenance.

4. Volkswagen Golf IV

Volkswagen Golf IV costs $4500-6000. Among the common options are 1.6-liter petrol engines AKL/BFQ and 1.9 SDI/TDI diesels. Chassis parts and consumables are available thanks to the wide unification of VAG models.

5. Ford Focus II

Ford Focus II can be found for approximately $5000-6000. For inexpensive maintenance, a 1.6-liter petrol engine is recommended. The model has a multi-link rear suspension, and the Ukrainian market offers many analogues of spare parts and used parts from disassemblies.

"In a budget of up to $6000, the availability of spare parts is no less important than the price of the car itself: mass models allow choosing between original parts, analogues, and components from disassemblies," notes author Oleksiy Astapov.
