On average, according to CarGuns, over the past year used cars in the States have risen in price by 30%, and since the beginning of the year – by 17%. This commotion in the secondary market was caused by a shortage of new cars (you can read about the reasons for the current situation in America here).

Does this mean that in Ukraine prices for used cars from the USA will rise by a third? Unlikely. The fact is that for the most part, the price increase concerns whole used cars – “wrecked” and “drowned” cars have also risen in price, but not so noticeably. Secondly, we still have different market realities: damaged cars from America after a strong price increase will not be able to compete with “Europeans” and “official” cars, so sellers will inevitably have to lower the price. Another thing is that such a trend may lead to the fact that outright “junk” will be brought from America, since a good car (with minimal damage) is already not so easy to find. However, time will tell how it will be in practice.
