The rating is based on surveys of owners of 329 thousand new cars of the 2021 model year (it starts in the USA in autumn). They reported on malfunctions in the first months of car ownership. Models were evaluated on 17 different parameters – from the quality of interior trim to the reliability of the engine and brakes.
The most reliable were the Toyota Prius hybrid, as well as the Lexus NX and Buick Encore crossovers (known here as the Opel Mokka). But the biggest reliability problems are experienced by the Chevrolet Silverado pickup, Subaru Ascent and Volkswagen Atlas crossovers.
