The fact is that a manual transmission will not allow precise optimization of fuel consumption and control of harmful emissions, and with it, cars will not meet Euro-7 requirements. But automatic transmissions, robots, and CVTs with modern electronics are up to such a task.
As it became known, Euro-7 standards will reduce CO2 emissions by 66% compared to Euro-6. The number of particulate matter should be reduced by 6 times, and nitrogen oxides NOx – from 80 to 30 mg per kilometer.
The new eco-standards will force automakers not only to abandon manual transmissions but also to equip absolutely all diesel and gasoline models with hybrid systems. Without electrification, internal combustion engines will not be able to comply with Euro-7 standards.
