At the Austrian plant Magna Steyr in Graz, production lines will stop this coming Monday, February 17. The reason will be a delay in the supply of batteries from the South Korean LG Chem, which are assembled at a plant in Wroclaw, Poland. There are no official explanations for the battery shortage yet. It is probably related either to the coronavirus epidemic in China or to problems at the Korean-Polish production itself.

A similar situation has already occurred among European automakers: due to a battery shortage, the launch of production of the electric crossovers Audi e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQC was previously postponed.
