According to insider information, Lexus will not develop a successor to the GS sedan, as the decision has already been made to remove the model from the brand's lineup.
The abandonment of the sedan is linked to the appearance on the market of the flagship LS model of a new generation, which for the first time acquired a six-cylinder engine. Because of this, the top versions of the GS could directly compete with the LS.
In addition, Toyota President Akio Toyoda is also against the GS, who back in 2011 sought to remove this business sedan from the lineup.
According to unofficial information, production of the Lexus GS will be discontinued as early as next year.
