The President stated that the enterprise already provides a significant share of its products to the Ukrainian market, but believes there are opportunities for improvement. According to him, it is necessary to constantly work to ensure that the volume of orders does not decrease, but rather grows.
Viktor Yanukovych emphasized the importance of a long-term perspective and spoke about plans to expand the product range and increase the number of orders. He noted that products must be in demand both in terms of cost and quality. The head of state also reminded that the share of state orders for LAZ had previously been about 20 percent, but recently there has been positive dynamics, indicating the right course of development.
During the visit, the President inspected the production workshops and familiarized himself with the plant's finished products. Particular attention was paid to emergency medical vehicles created jointly with Renault.
Speaking with the enterprise's employees, the President mentioned that the new ambulances manufactured for cities hosting Euro-2012 matches will be directed to the needs of rural medicine after the tournament.
In addition, Viktor Yanukovych highly praised LAZ's work in producing buses equipped for transporting passengers with disabilities. He emphasized that the creation of a barrier-free environment should be taken into account when constructing all new facilities, including those being built for the championship.
