The selling price of army vehicles is classified information. However, our colleagues from AUTO-Consulting managed to find out approximate prices, which we will provide below.
Armored vehicle "Dozor-B"
Such a vehicle will cost 3-3.5 million hryvnias. The price may be higher – it all depends on the armament and purpose. As we have already written, the Dozor-B is built mainly on imported components and weighs 6.3 tons. It accommodates a crew (troops) of 11 people (3+8). The depth of fordable water obstacles is up to 1 m.
In essence, it is a competitor to the Russian "Tiger" at $310 thousand, but with better passenger capacity.
"Kozak"
They wanted to introduce it into the army ranks back under Yushchenko, who, in fact, was the first among top officials to get acquainted with it. But over the past years, apart from promises and "breakfasts," the research and production association "Praktika" has received nothing. Yet the vehicle is worthy and could have saved many lives of those participating in special operations and fighting in the ATO zone. The Armed Forces, meanwhile, did not spend a single kopeck on the development of the "Kozak."
The underbody of this vehicle is protected against mine explosions. The vehicle can overcome obstacles at an angle of 35 degrees and ford water obstacles up to 1.5 meters deep. Available: GPS, radiation and chemical reconnaissance device, parking sensors and cameras, there is even air conditioning and ABS. The "Kozak" can be armed with a 12.7-mm NSVT machine gun or a Ukrainian KT-12.7 machine gun, as well as a 7.62-mm PKM machine gun or an AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher. The price of such a vehicle with all-wheel drive and an IVECO engine is about 125 thousand euros. Even the assistants of the "servants of the people" and especially the "servants" themselves often have more expensive cars...
There is also an ambulance version of the "Kozak" on a GAZ-66 chassis. Its price is simply ridiculous for an armored vehicle – 500 thousand hryvnias.
Mykolaiv armored ambulance
Recent events in Ukraine prompted employees of the Mykolaiv Armored Plant to create an ambulance "carriage" capable of performing its work in combat conditions.
In Mykolaiv, they made a special BTR-70 that can not only drive on any off-road terrain but also conquer water elements. That is, it is also suitable for eliminating the consequences of natural disasters. The price of an armored "ambulance" is from 1 million hryvnias to 2 million hryvnias.
Homemade armored truck
Such desperation prompted the Mykolaiv Locomotive Repair Plant (NTRZ) to also help Ukrainian soldiers in the difficult battle in the east of the country. Here they mastered the art of armoring ordinary production vehicles. In particular, for participation in the ATO, several UAZs and KAMAZs were armored at NTRZ.
The idea is by no means new. And the volunteer battalion "Azov" even armored an ordinary civilian dump truck without any outside help.
How much does such "pleasure" cost? According to unofficial data, turning an army KAMAZ-43114 into a cargo armored vehicle costs about half a million hryvnias.
APCs
Until recently, not everyone knew that Ukraine produces modern and in-demand APCs abroad. We are talking about the BTR-3E and BTR-4E, which we have already covered.
These vehicles have already proven themselves positively in the ATO zone. The cost of such APCs is about 1.2-1.5 million dollars.
KrAZ Shrek
It is said that the National Guard is about to receive these unique vehicles. At the end of May, the KrAZ-MPV Shrek One was presented in Kazakhstan, and in June at an exhibition in France.
The vehicle's armor corresponds to ballistic protection level B6+. The vehicle is protected against small arms fire, grenade fragments, shells, and weapons of mass destruction. Simply put, it is an ideal truck for sappers. Such a vehicle costs about 1 million dollars.
How much does war cost
The events in Ukraine are costly for everyone – ordinary citizens, Ukrainian automakers, and the state as a whole.
It is enough just to calculate how much armored combat vehicles cost to understand the main thing – the loss of each of them means at least a new hole in the budget. When it comes to airplanes and helicopters, the amounts are calculated not in one, and sometimes not even in ten million dollars...
