The past Year of the Snake was generous with automotive premieres. However, not all models announced by importers, for various reasons, made it to dealerships this year. Some previously announced new products were postponed to 2014.
We decided to tell which fresh and updated models should be expected in Ukraine in the Year of the Horse, and for convenience, we divided them by time of appearance.
Winter
"New" Renault Duster. The Russian-assembled car will be shown on January 16 in Kyiv.
Cayenne Platinum Edition. The Ukrainian importer of Porsche intends to present the car in the first month of the new year.
The appearance of a modernized Volkswagen Touareg is expected. In essence, this is the usual restyling. The updates will affect the front and rear bumpers — they will receive new styling, lighting with LEDs, fresh body color options, and small tweaks in the interior. It is also planned to improve the navigation and multimedia system.
Ford from the USA will launch updated Transit Connect and Tourneo Connect in January. And in February, Transit Custom will join them.
In February, sales of the all-wheel-drive station wagon 508 RXH and the updated 3008 will start. Both models are already accepting orders.
From February 1, official sales of Suzuki New SX4 begin. At the end of February, expect the new generation of the Toyota Highlander SUV.
The Chinese brand Lifan will make itself known with four models at once: the Lifan 330 hatchback, the Lifan 530 sedan, which Autoportal has already tested, and the Lifan 630 sedan. They will be presented in March, but some will only start selling from May 2014.
Spring
In March, sales of the updated Outlander (2.0/2.4 petrol engines) and ASX (1.6/1.8/2.0 L petrol) will begin. "Trade House — NIKO" announced plans to sell 6,000 cars in 2014.
In the same month, the premiere of the new Renault Megane is planned. A special Mégane GT-Line series will also be shown.
Renault's compatriot, Citroёn, plans to open sales of the five- and seven-seat Citroёn С4 Picasso and Citroёn Grand С4 Picasso at the same time. The new Citroёn Grand C4 Picasso will also be offered in a micro-hybrid modification e-HDi 115 (115 hp).
In April, the presentation of the updated Polo hatchback is scheduled. The car will get new engines: 1.2 TSI 90 hp/1.2 TSI 110 hp/1.0 75 hp/1.0 TSI 110 hp/1.4 TDI 75 hp/1.4 TDI 105 hp. The ESP system will become standard for all versions.
During this period, the compact crossover Macan from Porsche will appear on the market, and Ford will continue its update with Transit 1T and 2T, and in May, Transit Courier will be added.
Mercedes will show the new GLA crossover in March, and in April, sales of the new G-class will begin in Ukraine. After that, the CL-class will be replaced by the S-coupe.
In the same month, Nissan will present the new Teana in Ukraine. At the same time, sales of the completely new Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Pathfinder, and Infiniti Q50 will start.
The popular brand in Ukraine, Hyundai, will start supplying the i10 minicar and the new Sonata sedan from March. In spring, the appearance of Elantra FL is also expected. Closer to the end of May, Hyundai Ukraine should start selling the Accent FL.
Peugeot will bring the new 2008 to showrooms in March, the RCZ R in April, and the 4008 (1.6 HDi 115 hp) in May.
Seat will start launching new models from March. The Leon ST station wagon, Alhambra minivan, and Toledo sedan will be the first to start.
Summer
In July, the launch of the updated Scirocco is scheduled. The main differences are in the redesigned optics and multimedia system.
At the same time, deliveries of the new Golf Sportwagen station wagon will begin. The car will get three petrol engines 1.2 L (110 hp), 1.4 L (125 hp), 1.4 (150 hp), and a 2.0 diesel (110 hp).
Ford will have a new Explorer, and Citroёn will start sales of the compact crossover C4 Aircross with the e-HDi 115 micro-hybrid powertrain. This system is based on a diesel engine and a manual gearbox.
At the same time, they will start selling the commercial van Citroёn Jumper. It is possible that the budget Citroёn С4 sedan will also appear on the market, but this will depend on the market situation.
Autumn
The premiere of the Yaris hatchback is scheduled for early September, and the updated Camry sedan should be shown at the end of November.
The presentation of the new Hyundai i20 is scheduled for autumn. During the same period, the new Peugeot 308 hatchback will hit the market.
Ford will continue updating its model range in September — a restyled Focus will appear. Throughout the year, their diesel and petrol versions of B-Max and C-Max should appear on our market.
Winter
In December 2014, the updated Jetta will appear in Ukraine. The car, in addition to a new multimedia system and additional options, will get a fresh design.
Mitsubishi plans to release the new L200 pickup truck, which should become the main competitor to the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, and VW Amarok.
