The new model is based on the modular MQB platform, which underlies the current generation Golf. Dimensions of the VW T-ROC: length - 4179 mm, width - 1831, height - 1501 mm. Wheelbase - 2595 mm.

Under the hood is a 2-liter turbodiesel with 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque. However, any engine from the Golf model line can be installed. The gearbox is a seven-speed DSG "robot". Average fuel consumption is within 4.9 liters per 100 km.

Drive is all-wheel drive, with the 4MOTION system and rear axle connection via a Haldex-5 clutch. The 4MOTION concept has three operating modes: Street, Offroad, and Snow (city, off-road, and snow).

But the most impressive thing is the unusual T-ROC body. Not only is it a compact off-road coupe, but the roof panels are removable - a special place is provided for them in the trunk. As a result, we get a convertible, which will undoubtedly not go unnoticed by the wealthy public.

In general, you can't deny the originality of the VW T-ROC, and when it is also backed by many modern electronic gadgets, a natural question arises: "When?". Volkswagen is in no hurry to answer, but given the high interest in this model and the fact that it is built on a ready-made platform, we can expect the early appearance of a pre-production version at one of the autumn auto shows.
