Let us remind you that, as Autoportal previously reported, in the period from January to July ZAZ produced just over 2 thousand cars. It turns out that in six months the enterprise is going to increase the production level by more than 2 times, since to reach the planned indicator the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant must produce about 4 thousand cars from August to December.
It should be noted that since the beginning of 2020, ZAZ has resumed production of passenger cars. The first to go on the assembly line were cars of the Lada family (Vesta, Largus, Granta, 4×4, Niva, X-ray). In autumn, the Renault Arkana crossover joined them, and at the beginning of 2021 – the Kia Rio sedan and the Rio X cross-hatch. In addition to passenger cars, the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant also produces buses (ZAZ A08, A09 and A10), and soon the plant's lineup will include a car that will be sold under the logo… Mercedes-Benz.
In the future, ZAZ plans to produce 10 thousand cars annually. The figure seems considerable, but in the decade before last the enterprise worked much more productively: for example, in 2008 the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant assembled as many as 280 thousand cars. However, at ZAZ they do not hide that they can do more: at the moment the plant's capacity is loaded at 20%. In other words, it all comes down to demand and the purchasing power of the population.
