According to the Hydrometeorological Center, on August 22, thunderstorms are expected in the central, northern, and western regions, as well as in the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, with hail and wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s possible in places. The next day, except for the northern regions, short-term precipitation with thunderstorms will pass in most regions of the country.
Drivers in such weather should be extra careful on the road. It is important to choose a safe speed and maintain distance, as tire grip on the surface significantly deteriorates and visibility decreases. In case of heavy rain, it is better to stop, turn on the hazard lights, and wait until the precipitation weakens.
Pedestrians also need to be careful — drivers may not see them well on the roadway or on the roadside. It is recommended to stand out with bright clothing or reflective elements.
Drivers should not forget to turn on headlights and parking lights.
