The EcoDynamics+ hybrid system combines a diesel engine, a belt-driven Mild-Hybrid Starter-Generator, a 48-volt lithium-ion battery, and a DC-DC converter.
Such a powertrain can be paired with both a manual and an automatic transmission. Additionally, in the future, the system can be combined with a petrol engine.
The manufacturer has not yet disclosed more detailed specifications, but noted that the first to adopt the new system will be the facelifted Sportage crossover, which will be presented closer to autumn, and next year the setup will be adapted for the Ceed family.
