Airbus company plans to begin the first tests of flying car prototypes by the end of the year.
As part of the project called Vahana project, several conceptual single-seat models with vertical takeoff and landing capability have already been built.
The prototypes are being developed by Airbus's California office, and testing of the vehicles will be conducted at a research center in Oregon.
The aircraft manufacturer promises to present the production version of the flying car in 2020.
