X-Trail became the second Nissan model after the Serena minivan to be equipped with the ProPilot system, which allows the car to accelerate and decelerate autonomously, as well as steer while driving within a single lane.

In addition, the facelifted X-Trail received an upgraded intelligent parking assistance system, as well as a new "hands-free" function for the tailgate, which can be opened automatically by simply swiping a foot under the rear bumper.

Sales of the updated Nissan X-Trail with an expanded list of options have already started in the Japanese market.
