After the production of the Phaeton model was halted in March of this year, the plant, known for its transparent architecture, was planned to be converted into a museum. However, the management of the concern decided that such a high-tech enterprise should not remain idle, and next spring the assembly of the electric modification of the Golf will begin on the lines of the Transparent Factory.

In order to launch the new production, the plant will undergo technical re-equipment, for which Volkswagen will allocate 20 million euros. In addition to the e-Golf hatchback, Dresden is also planned to organize the assembly of the small electric car e-up!, as well as hybrid versions of the Golf GTE and Passat GTE.
