It is expected that Volvo's debut fully electric model will be a mid-size crossover aimed at competing with the Tesla Model X. The range of such a car, according to preliminary data, will be about 500 kilometers. The Swedish manufacturer also plans to expand its lineup with hybrid versions of existing cars.

By 2025, the company from Gothenburg intends to sell approximately one million cars with electric or hybrid powertrains. In parallel, Volvo is working on autonomous driving technologies. Soon, testing of the Swedish brand's self-driving prototypes will start on public roads in China.

Earlier, Volvo has already demonstrated what the interior of a car without a driver might look like, presenting a concept called Concept 26.
