The development of a new intelligent platform will be launched in the Texas division of Toyota Connect, and the technical foundation for it will be Microsoft's Azure cloud infrastructure.
The joint Toyota and Microsoft project involves the creation of cars capable of communicating with each other, analyzing and remembering the owner's usual routes, monitoring their physical condition, and also independently selecting and paying for a parking space.
The timing for introducing these functions into Toyota's production models has not yet been determined. The first to see the new feature will be the North American markets, after which the technology will be extended to other regions of the world. The Japanese automaker has allocated about one billion dollars for the development of automotive artificial intelligence.
