As stated by the company, the Qashqai will be able to drive on the highway, but only without changing lanes. Under such conditions, according to Japanese engineers, the car will accelerate and brake on its own. And what about traffic lights? It seems that for now we are talking exclusively about an autopilot designed for highways.
In the future, Nissan plans to teach the car lane-change maneuvers. And after that, by 2020, the company intends to introduce the Inner-city technology. Thanks to it, the car will be able to move through city streets, handling complex interchanges and intersections.
In total, the Renault-Nissan alliance by 2020 expects to present ten models equipped with an autopilot system.
