One of the key newcomers to the team will be Jamie Carlson, who previously held the post of chief engineer at Tesla. Following him, six more specialists with experience in this field have moved to Apple over the recent period.
The main goal of the new staff will be to create a self-driving car. To implement this project, a separate division has been formed within the company, which has 100 employees. This direction is headed by Apple vice president Steve Zadesky.
According to preliminary information, the company's own driverless car will be called Titan. According to unofficial data, the first electric car under the Apple brand will be built on the basis of the BMW i3, and its sales launch is scheduled for 2017.
