German automaker Mercedes-Benz has announced the imminent launch of production of a serial version of a car with a hydrogen engine. The company plans to start production of the new model in 2017. And most importantly, it will be comparable in price to hybrid models.
True, it was previously stated that production would start in 2015. According to experts of the German company, the postponement occurred not because of problems with the technology, but due to refinement and cost reduction. For this, Mercedes cooperated with Ford and Nissan.
It is surprising that the Germans are in no hurry, because competitors are not asleep. The same Toyota announces the launch of production of hydrogen cars at the end of 2014. The cost of the Japanese car is estimated at eight million yen (920,000 UAH).
