For example, developments are underway for solutions that will allow drivers to remotely inspect the interior of a car via a smartphone or tablet, and for the cars themselves to recognize their owners by appearance.
Within the framework of this project, called "Project Mobii", anthropologists and engineers from Intel, as well as, of course, research engineers from Ford, are working together. The driver should be recognized by Project Mobii through a camera built into the car's interior using a facial recognition program.
When a third-party passenger is detected, Project Mobii activates a privacy mode, in which case only the navigation system is displayed. If Mobii does not recognize the driver, a snapshot will be sent to the owner's gadget. If necessary, the car owner will be able to give permission for another person to use the vehicle.
