As reported by Ford, the length of this airbag reaches 4.5 meters, and its height approaches one meter. When deployed, it occupies a volume comparable to the capacity of a fairly large aquarium — 120 liters. This safety system was developed for the 2015 model year Transit minibus, where it will function as a side curtain.

In the event of an accident, this huge airbag is filled by two powerful compressors, and the entire process takes only one second. Ford plans to install such an airbag on the 15-seat Transit as standard equipment.
