With A-95 gasoline at 89 UAH/l and autogas at around 44 UAH/l, the difference in fuel costs becomes significant. However, the real payback of an LPG system depends on gas consumption, the cost of the equipment, and the share of gasoline the car uses before warming up.

With gasoline at 89 UAH, an LPG system can save about 300 UAH per 100 km

For a car that consumes 8 liters of gasoline per 100 km, a trip will cost 712 UAH. If on gas consumption increases to 9.6 l/100 km, at a price of 44 UAH/l the same 100 km will cost approximately 422 UAH. The difference is about 290 UAH.

“The difference is almost 300 hryvnias for every hundred kilometers,” notes the author of the material, Oleksiy Astapov.

A modern LPG system, after starting the engine, initially runs on gasoline and switches to gas after reaching specified conditions, in particular the coolant temperature. Therefore, on short routes the share of gasoline increases, and the actual savings decrease.

The payback of an LPG system depends on the price of the equipment and the mileage

In 2026, installing a fourth-generation LPG system for a four-cylinder engine with multipoint injection costs approximately 20,580-31,850 UAH depending on the kit.

With savings of about 290 UAH for every 100 km, such a system would theoretically recoup its costs after approximately 7-11 thousand km. The real mileage to payback will be greater due to the use of gasoline during startup and warming up, as well as the cost of LPG system maintenance.
