Assembly of Ford cars in Australia started more than 90 years ago: in 1925, the Model T rolled off the assembly line at the Geelong plant. Later, production facilities appeared in other cities of the country.
In recent years, the operation of Australian plants brought significant losses to the company, which ultimately led to the decision to completely cease vehicle production on this continent.
The final model to leave the assembly line in Australia was the Falcon sedan — its various modifications had been produced at this plant since 1959.
