The enterprise «Eurocar» is preparing to release the first batch of cars that will go on sale closer to the end of March or the beginning of April. The Skoda Spaceback model, built on the basis of the Rapid platform, will cost somewhat less than the «Rapid» in the liftback body, and its length will decrease by 18 centimeters due to a more compact luggage compartment.
At the same time, the wheelbase, which determines the space in the cabin, will remain the same. The line of engines for the hatchback will also be reduced: only two petrol units with a volume of 1.2 liters will be offered — atmospheric with 75 hp and turbocharged with 105 hp.
Among the diesel options for the Spaceback, only an engine with a power of 105 hp is provided. The car will be available in three trim levels: Active, Ambition and Elegance.
Prices for the new product are still kept secret, but those who want to save will have to sacrifice 135 liters of useful trunk volume compared to the liftback. However, for city residents, this parameter is often not decisive when choosing a car.
Additionally, «Eurocar» announced the start of production of the Skoda Octavia RS with a two-liter turbo engine producing 220 hp. The price for this version starts from 339 thousand hryvnias for a car with a manual gearbox and from 359 thousand hryvnias for a version with a six-speed DSG. Acceleration to hundred for this model takes 6.8 seconds.
