AvtoVAZ President Bo Andersson called the Vesta the first model symbolizing a new era for the car plant, which has fully come under the control of the Renault/Nissan alliance. The new model will be based on the new global Lada B platform.

The new name for the revolutionary model was developed with the involvement of the branding company BrandLab. This name appears in the mythology of various peoples and is associated with home comfort, spring, and the renewal of nature.
