The only strict restriction set by the manufacturer is the distance from the front axle to the partition separating the engine compartment and the cabin. At the same time, the choice of powertrains, transmission options, and all-wheel-drive systems is almost unlimited.
Thus, the future Skoda crossover with the working name Snowman will be close in size to the Hyundai Santa Fe. However, the range of engines, including various TSI and TDI from Volkswagen, the Korean competitor could not even dream of.
Moreover, Snowman will become the first Skoda model to feature a hybrid powertrain. This will give the Czech brand the opportunity to significantly increase sales in traditional markets and explore new ones. The company expects to almost double the volume of vehicles sold by 2018.
