The new Nissan Qashqai received petrol engines with a displacement of 1.2 and 1.6 liters, producing 115 and 150 horsepower respectively. Diesel units of 1.5 and 1.6 liters with a capacity of 110 and 130 hp are also offered. In the future, a hybrid modification is expected. Transmissions are manual or CVT.
Assembly was established at the plant in Sunderland (England), for which 500 additional employees were hired. This allowed the staff to be increased to 7,000 people for the first time in the history of the enterprise. During 2014, they plan to produce about 300 thousand Qashqai crossovers here.
