Many old cars that still drive on our roads are not equipped with special daytime running lights, so their drivers have to use low beam headlights instead of parking lights. The latter are not suitable for this purpose — their glow is too dim.
For now, traffic police officers are only reminding forgetful drivers that they need to drive with running lights on and comply with other points of the updated traffic rules. However, after May 15, inspectors will start drawing up protocols on those who violate these requirements.
Earlier, we already reported on the traffic police's plans to increase fines for certain violations. For example, for driving without a fastened seat belt, the fine amount may be increased fourfold, and for non-working running lights, by autumn you will have to pay from 340 to 425 hryvnias.
