Subaru Outback debuted in 1995 as an "off-road" version of the Legacy wagon. The name Legacy means "heritage," while Outback translates as "the outback." This term refers to the sparsely populated and arid regions of Australia. Outback became a separate model in 2000.
Surely many remember the previous generations of Outback, and almost the most successful of them is considered the third one. First of all, this concerns the design — it was liked by the majority (and, frankly, continues to be liked).
