Digital re-registration of a vehicle in Diia is not always available — there are certain requirements. First of all, both parties to the agreement must be individuals with Ukrainian citizenship. The seller and buyer must use the Diia app and have electronic versions of documents there: passport, identification code, and digital vehicle registration certificate. The vehicle must be registered in Ukraine, must not have the status of pledged or seized, and must be free from any restrictions and unpaid fines. However, there are cases when it will not be possible to re-register a car through Diia. This applies to cars that belong to companies, are pledged, have encumbrances or a ban on registration operations, or if at least one of the participants lacks digital documents in the app. Then you will have to contact the MVS service center and go through the procedure offline. To ensure everything goes smoothly, before the agreement it is worth checking for fines or arrests, verifying the VIN code with the data of the electronic vehicle registration certificate, and discussing all details with the other party in advance.
