Volkswagen has revealed the characteristics of the new electric fastback ID. Unyx 09, which debuted in the documents of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Sales of the new model on the Chinese market are expected to begin in the second half of 2026. This is reported by CarNewsChina.

The new ID. Unyx 09 is positioned as a large electric sedan with a coupe-like body, aimed at the premium segment. The car's length is 5081 mm, width is 1980 mm, height depending on the configuration reaches 1509 or 1526 mm, and the wheelbase is 3030 mm.

The model features an aggressive front-end design, widened rear fenders, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Equipment includes matrix LED headlights that, together with interactive LED modules, can project lane markings and the car's dimensions onto the road surface. A panoramic roof is also available.

Buyers will be offered two powertrains. The base rear-wheel-drive version is equipped with a single electric motor producing 308 hp. For the top modification, two electric motors are provided: a rear one with 308 hp and a front one with 188 hp. Their total output is 496 hp.

All versions are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries manufactured by CATL, which are assembled at the Volkswagen Anhui Components plant. The all-wheel-drive ID. Unyx 09 with a curb weight of 2307 kg is capable of reaching a top speed of 200 km/h.

The new model will become the flagship of the ID. Unyx lineup after the ID. Unyx 07 and ID. Unyx 08 crossovers, created as part of Volkswagen's cooperation with Chinese partners. The production of the new sedan is expected to strengthen the brand's position in the segment of powerful premium electric vehicles.
