The premiere of a new version took place in China, and it can already be ordered at a starting price of 288,500 yuan, which is approximately $40,400.
This Tesla Model Y Long Range RWD modification is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle, producing 302 horsepower, and a battery from LG Energy Solution with a capacity of 78.4 kWh — similar to the one used in the Model 3.
The manufacturer claims a range of 821 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC cycle, or 656 kilometers according to the European WLTP methodology. Thus, this is the longest-range Model Y variant of all offered.
At the same time, the speed characteristics remain unchanged: acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5.6 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 201 km/h.
Neither on the outside nor in the interior does the Long Range RWD have any differences from the base Model Y 2025. Currently, this version is offered exclusively in the standard body with a length of 4.8 meters, although for Chinese buyers there is also an extended six-seat modification.
