In the published image, the new product almost repeats previous renders: the familiar profile with an elongated hood and a raised window line is preserved. At the same time, the front of the crossover has been significantly updated — the CX-5 of the 2026 model year will have a different radiator grille, a redesigned front bumper, and compressed curved headlights.
According to available preliminary information, the overall length of the car will increase to about 4.6 meters, which will allow more free space inside. Changes in the technical part are also announced: at the start of sales, the crossover will receive a 2.5-liter gasoline unit with 140 hp, which will work together with a mild hybrid system.
Later, new-generation Skyactiv-Z engines will appear in the engine lineup, which will be distinguished by better fuel efficiency and meet Euro-7 environmental standards. An upgrade of the gearbox is also envisaged: initially, the model will be equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and later it will be replaced by a newer 8-speed one.
The tenth start of sales of the crossover is scheduled for the beginning of 2026.
