The Skoda Favorit became the brand's last creation before it came under the wing of the Volkswagen Group. In the eighties of the last century, this model had a rather modest 1.3-liter engine and a "chopped" body, and now designers offer a completely different look at this classic. The front of the concept car is made restrained: no Tech-Deck "mask", only conciseness, narrow LED headlights and clear geometry of lines.
Among the interesting solutions, it is worth noting the unusual door handles, which are common for the front and rear doors, with the rear doors opening against the direction of travel. The dark roof trim, expressive stripe on the hood and powerful rear pillar — all these are references to the original model.
For now, this is just a concept embodied on paper. However, it looks so fresh and unusual that there is hope: the new Favorit may not be limited to studio presentations only. Skoda does not yet disclose any technical details, but it is quite likely that it will be based on an electric platform that could become the basis for a compact production car for the city.
By the way, in Ukraine, the Skoda Favorit was once considered a real dream for many drivers. It was chosen by those who wanted to get more than an ordinary VAZ-2109. More attractive design, more comfortable interior, economical engine and Czech reliability — all this made the Favorit much more attractive than the "nine". In the nineties, such cars were often found on our roads, but today finding a living example is almost hopeless. So few of them have survived that they can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
