The new LUAZ 2023 is announced as the heir to the cult LuAZs of the 70s–80s, but this project has nothing to do with the Lutsk Automobile Plant. The pickup is based on the body from the Chinese company Hebei Kaiyun Motors, but some components — the frame, seats, glass, and battery — are made in Ukraine.

The model will be offered in two versions: the two-door "Farmer" and the four-door "City".

The interior features a digital instrument panel and a multimedia system with a touchscreen. The electric car is also equipped with a rear-view camera. An electric motor with a power of 5 kW (6.8 hp) is placed on the rear axle. Due to its L7e category, the maximum speed is limited to 50 km/h. Plans include the release of an all-wheel-drive modification.

The 6.14 kWh battery provides a range of 100 km without recharging. If up to three such units are installed, the range can be extended to 300 km.
The starting price of the LUAZ is 190,000 hryvnias, but in this configuration the car is supplied without a battery. A separate battery unit costs 45,000 hryvnias, or it can be rented.
