This is about the Volkswagen Fox hatchback, which is sold in Brazil. Usually, Volkswagen even in the "base" trim installs simple audio systems with a monochrome display on budget models, but not in this case. Brazilian buyers of the cheapest Foxes can only count on audio preparation – that is, the cars contain wiring for self-connection of audio systems, which can be purchased from dealers as an option.

However, there is also good news – after such an "update", the Volkswagen Fox has become a bit cheaper.

Volkswagen emphasized that this was a forced measure: the company is experiencing an acute shortage of semiconductors, as are other automakers worldwide.

Either way, the Volkswagen Fox will not stay on the assembly line without a radio for long. And in general, the Fox as such... The model is to be discontinued in a couple of months, as it is already outdated both technically and morally. The Fox is built on the "ancient" PQ24 platform, which VAG has used since the 1990s for cars such as the Skoda Fabia I. Along with the hatchback, which has been produced virtually unchanged since 2003, its "brother", the Voyage sedan, will retire.
