The car has increased ground clearance and reduced body overhangs. The design turned out to be quite unconventional – with inflated muscular surfaces, a large angle of inclination of the rear pillars and two spoilers on the tailgate. The model's calling card is the arrow-shaped LED headlights and taillights.
The new Citroen C5 X is built on the EMP2 modular platform, like the Peugeot 508 and DS 9. Its length is 4805 mm, width – 1865 mm, height – 1485 mm, and wheelbase – 2785 mm.
Inside, there is a virtual instrument cluster and a large 12-inch multimedia touchscreen, as well as a head-up display. The signature comfortable Advanced Comfort Seats are also installed, and they can be supplemented with massage.
The Citroen C5 X 2021 has a spacious interior and a sizable 545-liter trunk, and the fifth door can be supplemented with an electric drive with an opening sensor. Other options include surround-view cameras and a semi-autonomous driving system.
The 225-horsepower plug-in hybrid Citroen C5 X debuted first, capable of traveling 50 km in electric mode. Also expected are 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engines and 2.0-liter turbo diesels.
The new Citroen C5 X also received suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions (PHC) technology – shock absorbers with built-in hydraulic buffers that provide a smoother ride. In addition, air suspension is available for the car, and in the hybrid version it is part of the basic equipment.
