So, it is stated that the upcoming Mercedes EQS will have two versions – rear-wheel drive EQS 450+ and all-wheel drive EQS 580 4MATIC +. In the first case, the output will be 333 hp and 568 Nm, in the second – 523 hp and 855 Nm. Acceleration data has not been announced yet, but the top speed is known – it will be 210 km/h. For comparison, the top speed of the Porsche Taycan – another German premium electric car – is 230 km/h.

Also, the Mercedes EQS will have two batteries to choose from - 90.0 kWh and 107.8 kWh. With the larger battery, the electric sedan's range will be 770 km according to the WLTP cycle. In turn, the Tesla Model S travels 663-843 km on a single charge depending on the modification.

Mercedes emphasizes that the EQS will get an advanced thermal management system: this will allow a battery warranty of up to 10 years or 250,000 km.

Finally, the highlight of the Mercedes EQS will be one of the most streamlined cars – its drag coefficient will be 0.20. This will have a positive effect on the car's energy efficiency: its energy consumption will be from 16 to 20 kWh.
