First of all, the new Renault Megane 2021 will turn into a crossover-hatchback, which will have increased ground clearance and plastic body kit in the style of SUVs. Its appearance was shown last year on the concept car, and then it was emphasized that the production car will practically not differ from the show car.
Secondly, the fresh "Megane" will become electric. It will be based on the CMF-EV platform, which is already used in the electric crossover Nissan Ariya. The overall length of the car is about 4.2 meters, and the distance between the axles is 2.7 meters.
According to available data, the electric Megane will receive a 220-horsepower engine and will be able to reach the first "hundred" in about eight seconds. A very thin battery (its thickness is only 11 centimeters) with an energy reserve of 60 kWh will allow driving about 450 kilometers on the WLTP cycle, and it will take no more than half an hour to replenish the charge to 70%.
