The Volkswagen ID.5 electric car is built on the basis of the ID.4 crossover and differs from it by a more sloping coupe-like roofline. In addition, it has a slightly different front end design and a pointed rear with a spoiler.

The interior layout will most likely be identical to the ID.4 – with a small virtual instrument cluster and a huge touchscreen. Of course, the new Volkswagen ID.5 will not be as spacious as its sibling, and the trunk will lose about 100 liters (its volume will be about 440 liters).
Most likely, from the start they will offer a rear-wheel drive 204-horsepower version with one motor and an all-wheel drive version with two motors producing 306 hp. In the latter case, acceleration to 100 km/h will take about 6 seconds.

Both modifications will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, and the range will be about 500 km. Later, a more affordable Volkswagen ID.5 with a 58 kWh battery is expected.
The Volkswagen ID.5 2021 will become the third production model in the ID family. By the way, its first representative is already in Ukraine.
