The electric car from Ford will turn out to be a close "relative" of the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 models, since it will be based on the same MEB platform. Recall that a partnership agreement was concluded between the Volkswagen and Ford concerns.
Under this agreement, Volkswagen undertakes to supply components for the production of 100 thousand electric Fords annually for six years. In turn, Volkswagen will gain access to the Ford Ranger pickup platform, on which the new second-generation Amarok will be built.
In terms of design, the new electric car will resemble the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The powertrain, like the Volkswagen ID.3, will be represented by electric motors with 143 and 204 horsepower, as well as batteries of 58 and 77 kWh. In the maximum configuration, the car will be able to cover more than 500 kilometers on a single charge.
