Tesla Model S 2022 Design

The exterior of the senior electric car of the California brand really remained the same – the company considered that the electric car already looks modern, despite the fact that it was "drawn" back in 2012. The designers limited themselves to only a few touches: the car lost its chrome trim (now replaced by black inserts), received a sporty front bumper (air intakes appeared), and acquired a glass roof through which you can examine in detail the completely redesigned interior.

Tesla Model S 2022 Interior

Inside, the first thing that catches your eye is the steering wheel – instead of the traditional round "wheel" there is now a U-shaped yoke, like in racing cars. In addition, the vertical multimedia screen has been replaced by a horizontally oriented 17-inch display – Tesla previously implemented this solution on the younger Model 3 and Model Y. A new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster has also appeared.

Tesla Model S 2022 Equipment

For the updated Model S, a large package of options is also available. The car can be "upgraded" with premium audio with 22 speakers, wireless chargers for all passengers' gadgets, heating for all seats, steering wheel and windshield, three-zone climate control, etc.

Tesla Model S Plaid

Finally, the "eska" has a high-performance modification available in two versions – Plaid and Plaid +. For understanding, if a regular car is equipped with two motors, accelerates to 97 km/h in 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 249 km/h (the top version of the standard Model S is Long Range), then the "Plaids" already use three electric motors, demonstrating acceleration to 97 km/h in 1.99 seconds and a top speed of 322 km/h. The regular Plaid travels 627 km on a single charge, while the Plaid + travels 836 km. The range of the Model S Long Range is 663 km.

Tesla emphasized that the increase in range was achieved not only by installing a new power unit, but also a heat pump responsible for heating – unlike a traditional heater, it significantly saves battery charge.

The minimum price of the Tesla Model S Plaid is $120,000, the Plaid + is priced at $140,000. The regular Model S costs from $80,000.

By the way, the Model X crossover also received similar changes, with one exception – the Plaid + version was not prepared for it. As for the Tesla Model X Plaid, it accelerates to 97 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches a maximum of 262 km/h. The range on a single charge is 547 km, the price is the same $120,000.
